We stayed here during the half term break with our two kids, a 4 year old boy and a year old girl. My family were made to feel very welcome by Phil and Mel. We loved the accommodation which was really cosy and had everything you needed for a family. They even brought us dvds to watch in the evenings..

We stayed in a Yurt with our two girls, age 6 and 18 months. Both girls loved staying in the Yurt and at Puddleduck Valley. Having a real (private) bathroom and access to the kitchen made the stay enjoyable, though with no electric in the Yurt it still made it feel like a camping adventure. Glamping at its best!! Phil, Mel and the girls made us all feel really welcome. The campfire with sausages and songs was one of the highlights of the stay. Easy access to Bude for the beaches. We also ventured to Sandymouth, a beautiful beach though not really very practical with young kids. The car park was full so we had to use the overflow which was about a half mile walk down to the beach, then lots of steps down which wasn't easy with a toddler. We also had a day trip to the Big Sheep which was fun. Top tip: take a picnic as the queue for the restaurant was very long. And finally, Sat Nav is great, but just be careful as it likes to take you along the single lane tracks of North Devon .

We've just returned from spending a week at The Stables at Puddleduck Valley. The accommodation was first rate, and had everything we needed, a nicely equipped kitchen, grown-ups bedroom, bedroom for the kids equipped with toys and decent size living room. As mentioned by other reviewers one of the highlights of the trip was for the kids to be able to feed the animals on the farm each morning, our two girls really enjoyed this, especially being able to get so close to the rabbits. Farmer Melanie was great with our one and two year old and really got them involved, for example getting them to feed the goats and collect the eggs from the chickens, and by the week both our girls were much more at ease with the animals having initially being scared witless by the goats in particular! The weather wasn't great whilst we were there, but it didn't really matter as we still had a fantastic time, there is also a little room onsite where the kids can go when it's raining to do painting etc. Whilst there we also visited Bude, The Big Sheep (great for young kids), Barnstaple, Boscastle and Tintagle, also Ilfracombe is worth a visit. Thanks Phil and Melanie for making us feel so welcome during our stay.
